Memory Lane Monday #18 ~ Review ~ Tiger's Destiny by Colleen Houck

Memory Lane Monday is a weekly meme that Amber at Paradise of Pages and I, Kristalyn at The Sarcastic Palmtree, came up with. We have been wanting to re-read some of our favorites but feel overwhelmed by all the other new books coming out that our re-reads get put to the side. We have decided we don't want to put them aside anymore, so we will be taking turns putting up our reviews on our blogs throughout the month. This does not mean we won't keep up with recent releases as well, it just means we will make more time for those we have read before as well.

Tiger's Destiny (The Tiger Saga, #4)

With three of the goddess Durga's quests behind them, only one prophecy now stands in the way of Kelsey, Ren, and Kishan breaking the tiger's curse. But the trio's greatest challenge awaits them: A life-endangering pursuit in search of Durga's final gift, the Rope of Fire, on the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal.  It's a race against time--and the evil sorcerer Lokesh--in this eagerly anticipated fourth volume in the bestselling Tiger's Curse series, which pits good against evil, tests the bonds of love and loyalty, and finally reveals the tigers' true destinies once and for all.

At First Sight
As with the other covers in this series, this one is gorgeous!  I would love to have a reading room someday and these covers are definitely ones I would frame as art.
Characters and Relationships
The relationships between the characters in this book are pivotal to the story and as such, it is hard for me to elaborate without spoilers.  I will say, I absolutely hated Anamika and still really don't like her much.  I was happy with how the whole love triangle shook out although if it was me, (personal preference here) I would have taken the other guy.
Is this a kissing book?
There is kissing again in this book though not quite as hot and heavy as the others.  With that being said, this being the 4th in the series, I was more concerned with the story rather than the kissing as things were finishing up.
Don't leave me hanging
No hangers here!  This is the end to an epic series although there is a 5th book that will be eventually written to clear up a few mysterious things that aren't answered in the series.  That being said, you won't be dying or feel like you have a billion loose ends hanging there.

The Sum Up
This book was an emotional ride for me from start to finish.  I cried several times and it did, as expected, make me cry again at the end.  It's a combination of good and not so good crying, but all in all it is worth the tears to experience this series.  I love Colleen Houck's writing.  She has beautifully crafted a series full of adventure, romance and intrigue that I could read time and time again.  I would recommend this series to everyone and anyone.

Here's how Memory Lane Monday works:
  • Each week the co-hosts will trade off with recapping when it is a re-read or what they have heard so far about the book and the other co-host will put up their review.
  • The participants can read anything that they remember reading in the past, or something that they have wanted to read that has been around for a while and just haven't gotten around to reading it yet for whatever reason.
  • Participants can decide if they want to recap the book before reading it or just put up a review of what they read.
  • Anyone can join in, just please link back to our blogs as well as add your name to the linky so we can hop around and see what everyone is reading.
  • Please put our banner on your post as well, so we all look the same!
  • We ask you kindly to follow BOTH of our blogs.
  • Most importantly remember to just have fun! :)

We will be providing each week a linky that you will be able use to link your posts for us and everyone else to see as well. All we ask is for you to put up our banner as well as a link back to both hosts on your post.

  1. I'm so glad that you decided to re-read this series. I am definitely going to have to read it sometime in the next couple months. Hopefully on my new kindle :) Though I might just go ahead and get hardcopies of these. I love how you do your favorite quote. I think I need to start doing that too. It's awesome!!

Great as always :) Thanks for being a co-host with me. It makes it so much more fun!!
